Do any scents trigger powerful memories, transport you to another time and place?
For me, the scent of Larzijan was with me from the very top of my street to my home.
The slightly burnt garlic with heated sesame seed oil and pepper was my darling mum’s sauce, never to be forgotten – Larzijan, a Uyghur sauce, and now only it could possibly connect me to my heritage, taking me back to my childhood. It is ordinary yet magnificent, simple yet sensational. It enhances every dish regardless of its origin and name. It is dark red, I like to call it the King of Sauces.
I, myself am one who believes that a plant-based diet will make our world a better place, so this food is connected with my children’s future.
It awaits you with a warm welcome in what must be the smallest and the most elegant takeaway food place in this green and pleasant land.
